Of all the ways you can eat seafood, few are as much messy fun as a southern American-style crab boil. You put on a bib, get served a bag crammed with shellfish and lashings of sauces, and chow down on the ocean’s finest using your bare hands.
USA institution the Boiling Crab specialises in this kind of dining and arrived in Australia in 2021, opening its first restaurant in Glen Waverley. The second one has just opened in Melbourne’s CBD at 4 Tattersalls Lane, serving Cajun up goodness daily noon-9.30pm.
To celebrate, we’re giving away three $300 vouchers to eat at the Boiling Crab. To enter, simply complete the entry form below. Entry closes at midnight on Sunday, July 17, and your prize must be redeemed by Wednesday August 31, 2022.
At the Boiling Crab, the menu works by letting you choose your ‘hero’ seafood: think Moreton Bay bug, king crab legs, lobster, clams, scampi, crawfish, mussels, baby octopus, sea snails or abalone. The ocean bounty is steamed or boiled in your choice of sauces (Rajun Cajun, Lemon Pepper or Garlic). Pick how spicy you like it (from ‘not at all’ to ‘I can’t feel my mouth’) and add on sides like pork sausage, corn on the cob, whole baby potatoes and Cajun-spiced fries. There’s also a whole selection of fried seafoods for those who like things on the crisp and battered side.
