The B.East of Brunswick St (CLOSED)

You better double-check which B.East you're going to next time your friends want to meet up for burgers, now that it is open in Fitzroy. The debaucherous burger bar and live music venue is happy to have a second outpost on Brunswick Street bucking against gentrification, proudly claiming to be part of the resistance. In other words, owner Maz Salt is trying to make Fitzroy cool again. The B.East of Brunswick St serves the same classic burgers (yes, vegan ones too), fries and attitude alongside a solid selection of local beers, wines and spirits. While there isn't live music at the Brunswick Street outpost, the playlist is unpretentious, wild and always played at maximum volume.
