From salads and pizzas to pasta and toast, there's virtually no food that doesn't improve with the addition of ricotta. The delicious soft white Italian cheese is a marvel, and if you're among its many fans, you can celebrate it at the upcoming Ricotta Festival on March 30 hosted by That's Amore Cheese in Thomastown.
At Australia's only ricotta-themed party, the star-studded line-up of vendors includes Abruzzo Lab, UGO Burrata Bar, Cannoleria, Little Naples Pizzeria, Pacelli Deli and more. Every attendee will score a complimentary serving of hot ricotta, before you can continue to feast in the form of pizza, porchetta rolls, salads and cannoli.
As for beverages, there will be a selection of wines, Peroni beer, Spritzes and coffee available to wash all that cheesy goodness down.
There will also be live demonstrations by chefs like Adam D’Sylva, Telina Menzies and Pia Gava; live music performances from Siesta Cartel, the Melbourne School of Tarantella Dancers and the Veneto Club Choir; and a kids' zone with a petting zoo and face painting. Plus, the Carlton Football Club van will be getting everyone involved with goal-kicking and giveaways.
And before you go, don't forget to stock up your pantry with goodies from more than 25 vendors like Bippi, La Manna, Il Baronello, Backyard Honey, Del Bocia and Pistachio Papi.
Early bird tickets are $15 until February 14, and $20 after. You can get yours via the website.
