Tella Balls Dessert Bar

It’s fair to say that the world is having an ongoing love affair with Nutella and nowhere is that more apparent than at Tella Balls. The dessert bar is as crazy about the famous choc-hazelnut spread as you are, serving up extravagant Nutella inspired desserts that fans love for their Instagram potential as they do their taste. After initially launching in NSW, you can now find Victoria’s first Tella Balls Dessert Bar at Melbourne Central.

Tight pants are best avoided when visiting. As well as serving their titular Tella Balls (a brioche doughnut-style ball filled with lots of Nutella) the store also serves doughnut-gelato sliders, doughnut ice cream cones, doughnut fries, crepes, pancakes and waffles. And that’s their most conventional offerings. Tella Balls also do dessert kebabs, dessert lasagna and an intriguing dessert fish and chips (that’s fried ice cream “fish” with doughnut “chips”).

Naturally Nutella is the main event here but if you must bring along a no-tella friend there are alternative desserts available – their blueberry and ricotta waffles look particularly appetising. Tella Balls Melbourne Central is open daily until 9pm.
