Montalto’s laid-back sister winery, Tucks Ridge, is home to an impressive lineup of food over the next four weeks.
Starting on the first weekend of February, the venue will play host to four of the country’s top chefs, following on from Mischa Tropp’s Elsie's residency throughout the summer. Tropp will still be on board to serve up the very best of Elsie’s Indian, in addition to working with star chefs as they take over the kitchen each Saturday and Sunday.
Join Middle Eastern chef Tom Sarafian (ex-Rumi) on February 4 and 5 with a barbecue-Middle Eastern/Indian menu featuring hummus, spanner crab and king prawns, and charcoal chicken kebab, toum, pickled green chilli and parsley salad.
Next in line with a Balinese feast is Michael Stolley, head chef and hospitality pro responsible for the likes of Eazy Peazy and Mrs Singh’s. “I’m thrilled to be joining Mischa at Tuck's for some tasty food and juicy wines – and to share the experience with chefs that really love what they do,” says Stolley.
The third weekend Harry Mangat will combine his love for Indian comfort food with Australian produce and indigenous ingredients – with mouth-watering results. Expect vibrant, punchy flavours.
Rounding out the month is executive chef at Comma Food and Wine Matt Woodhouse. “I met Mischa through a good friend and loved his style of Indian food,” says Woodhouse. “Working with like-minded chefs has been so great, and it's cool to see what other people are cooking post Covid-lockdowns.”
Tucks is open Saturday 11am-6.30pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm, walk-ins only. And dogs are always welcome.
