Marios has been a Brunswick Street institution since its inception in '86 when Mario Maccarone and Mario de Pasquale joined forces to open a venue in a then-bohemian neck of the woods, driven by the radical concept of serving up breaky all day.
To celebrate its birthday, Marios is going back to its '80s prices (except for booze) – coffee for a buck, eggs for $3.50 – in fact, everything on its menu will reflect prices of the mid-'80s. Despite some of the perennial faves having had a facelift (eggplant parma has been gussied up as crumbed fried eggplant with a Napoli sauce, melted cheese and pan-fried garlic), other things haven't changed – the coffee is still killer.
