Time Out says

Fans of Shane Delia’s legendary Maha restaurant have been treated to a new offering from the illustrious chef and restaurateur – and it comes in the form of a luxe wine bar meets brasserie on Smith Street, aptly named Maha North.

You can expect the same pristine quality and sense of daring that Delia’s vibrant Middle Eastern fare is known for, this time with a refreshing Northside moodiness. Longtime followers of the Maha brand will spot both new and familiar dishes on Maha North’s produce-driven menu, a masterfully curated showcase of seasonal ingredients and innovative flavours from head chef Niko Pasieka.

Nestle into a warm leather nook and peruse the alternative-leaning wine list that's more than 150 bottles strong, before opting for a signature set sharing menu or taking free reign with the a la carte. Here you’ll find no shortage of funky snacks, from zucchini flowers with anchovy and almond tarator to fresh Lebanese dumplings with poached leeks, spiced chicken and pine nuts.

Look out for the daily special if you feel like tasting the fruits of Pasieka’s latest creative whim, but whatever you do, don’t skip on dessert. Here, it’s an occasion in and of itself. Experiment with pineapple granita and yogurt creme, Geraldton wax and lime jelly, or handcrafted melt-in-your-mouth chocolates.

A generous spread of al fresco and barside dining space encourages you to make the most of Melbourne’s temperamental weather vibes. And every Wednesday and Sunday you can even BYO your fave vino – it's $25 per bottle corkage fee, and open for all bookings up to seven guests.

Bring a crew of your most discerning foodie friends for a dinner you’ll be talking about long after the experience.
