After working in kitchens across Melbourne and Europe, young chef Kobi Ruzicka has paired up with fellow chef Luci Di Lullo to open their own premises in an Eltham laneway. The laid back café and bar offers a Melbourne-centric interpretation of European food and drink: think octopus cooked in chicken fat for bar snacks, and pumpkin cakes with cream cheese icing and pumpkin seed praline for dessert.
Kobi and Luci were drawn to Eltham by its sense of community and are hoping to contribute to the burgeoning suburban food and bar scene. The menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner and incorporates locally sourced produce.
To celebrate their official opening, the team will be offering a free coffee for each customer until 1pm on Monday February 2. Go in for a latte and you might just come out with a new favourite haunt.
