If there's anything our beloved pooches love, it's a treat and a chance to sniff butts and play with other four-legged friends. That's why two devoted pet parents decided to open what could be Australia's very first café just for dogs: Lenny's Pup Shop.
Named after their beloved golden retriever Lenny, it's a mobile treats van currently located at Apex Park in Altona, with a simple but heartwarming mission: to provide a welcoming space for our doggo pals to indulge in a healthy treat or two and socialise.
The idea for the cute business was also sparked by Lenny's allergy to chicken, which made it challenging for the owners to find suitable treats that didn’t contain poultry or other preservatives – especially at pet stores. And so the Lenny's Pup Shop range was born, comprised of 100-per cent Aussie single-ingredient protein treats with no nasties.
The café is where you can treat your pet to an enticing menu of doggo-friendly treats, from the 'pupcup' (choose from pumpkin, beef, cinnamon or lamb flavour) to the 'pawtein bowl' – Lenny's 100-per cent natural smoothie bowl with Greek yoghurt and pumpkin, beef liver sprinkles and doggy peanut butter.
Want a treat delivered to your home? You can also purchase from the range online.
Lenny's Pup Shop is open every weekend, on Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
