Time Out says

Perched in the heart of Northbridge, La Cholita is a corner cantina with a loud, lively and casual vibe. The restaurant has been serving up traditional Mexican fare to diners perched on rustic and grungy furniture since 2011.

The venue boasts a back bar of more than 100 different tequilas, all made from 100 per cent agave. From fresh citrussy Blancos to rounded and smooth extra Anejos, there’s something for all tastes.

We’ve got our eyes on the tequila cocktails - and a lip-licking menu of Mexican delights. Think tostadas with chipotle chicken and corn salsa, scallop tacos with cucumber salsa and avocado, three cheese and jalapeno quesadillas and spiced pork belly with pomegranate and Morita salsa. The crowd favourites include crispy Baja fish tacos and the signature spicy Margarita, spiked with red chillies and muddled fresh cucumber.

The restaurant was established by the chef and restauranteur Clint Nolan, who was inspired by his visit to the North American country. Nolan is also the founder of Lavish Habits and owner behind Sneaky Tony’s, Joe’s Juice Joint, Henry Summer and Alabama Song. And we’ll let you in on a tip: the best seat in the house is the one at the bar.
