We already know that salads are delicious and nutritious, but making interesting ones at home that aren't just limp, leafy affairs isn't always feasible or affordable. Enter Greenstreat, a 'fast food' salad bar that's just landed in Richmond after opening up three thriving locations in Albury, Wodonga and Brisbane.
Founded by brothers Jackson and Jesse McGrath, Greenstreat aims to reconnect people with fresh, whole foods and reinvigorate the appetite for healthy salads. Visitors can mix and match more than 40 ingredients, 13 dressings, four standards (seasonal produce mixes) and two bowl bases to build their own tasty concoctions. Now math isn't our strong suit, but that's a whole heap of potential combos.
On the menu, you'll find a range of tossed-to-order salads and warm bowls paired with dressings, including the protein-packed Blackened Chicken Burger Bowl (chopped cos lettuce, raw slaw, avocado, blackened chicken and tortilla chips with burger dressing) and the Farmer's Harvest (baby spinach, grains, roasted vegetables, semi-dried tomatoes, crumbled feta and toasted seeds). You can also get burritos chock-full of tasty produce and protein.
"We live by the mantra that we want people to feel better than when they came in," said the McGrath brothers. "It's all about ensuring our customers are well-fed, enjoy the energetic vibe and trust that they're fueling their body with whole food direct from the source."
