So Long St Ali North, hello Green Park. Just over a month ago, Salvatore Malatesta sold the Brunswick East café to a new collective of hospitality heroes – Jess Gerner (Bomba and Anada), James Madden of Kirk’s Wine Bar, Jamie Munro-Lynch (ex-Charlie Dumpling). Chef Howard Stamp is coming in via Movida and Le Bon Ton to bash the pans and smoke some bacon. On October 2, the team are reopening the venue as an all day eatery, wine bar and sometimes-live-music venue. We’re expecting a good time. Kris Wood of Clements Coffee Roasters is doing the caffeine and the food has a whole beast and local produce focus, so you should be able to gnaw on a haunch of something or other most nights. They’re also planning on dong two- and three-course dinners for $30 or $40 a couple of nights a week. Booze-wise, Madden has gone all local on the wine, cider and beer front, and Sundays will see them slinging New Orleans cocktails to the tune of some sweet live piano and sax.
