This Rosanna café in Melbourne's northeast is set in the leafy suburb's peaceful surrounds, close to the Rosanna Parklands and a short drive from the La Trobe University campus.
Funkie Brewster, a cheeky nod to the 1980s kids' sitcom Punky Brewster, is a neighbourhood café that draws in coffee snobs, young families and Melbourne's discerning foodies. The brunch menu features the delicious almond and blueberry pancake stack (pictured) with vanilla bean mascarpone, Persian fairy floss, apple-infused maple syrup and seasonal fruit. Feeling healthy? Opt for the açai bowl with the Brewster super seed mix. Otherwise, something from the burger menu like the Moroccan slow cooked lamb burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato and tzatziki sauce on a brioche bun should do the trick.
Stay caffeinated with speciality coffee by Code Black Coffee Roasters. The rear courtyard makes for a great outdoor brunch spot all year round, and kids can even play in the cubby house while mum and dad kick back with the day's paper.
