If you like The European, City Wine Shop and Spring Street Grocer, you'll love Barbarella Gelato and Wine, a cafe, wine bar and gelateria from the Euro-centric restaurant group. The new eatery in Block Arcade follows suit from its predecessors' European style; it's a simple operation that is open seven days a week from 7am until late. Barbarella serves light breakfasts and sandwiches for lunch like the shredded pork brioche bun and poached chicken breast roll.
On summer days, or when you feel like dessert after dinner in the city, the pozetti tubs in the gelato bar will have fresh gelato and sorbet made by Massimo Bidin from Spring Street Grocer's Gelateria Primavera ready for scooping.
During the day, Barbarellas serves coffee, fresh juices and milkshakes made with the in-house fior de latte gelato. There's also a decent short beer and wine list for after work drinks in the historic arcade.
