It's hard to believe, but a decade has past since Andrew McClelland first started hosting monthly dance parties. Mr McClelland's Finishing School turns ten this October, and to celebrate it's hosting a massive 10th birthday party in the city.
A lot has changed since McClelland first started tearing up the dance floor with a raucous mix of pop, rock, soul and indie music. Finishing School has moved on from Bella Union (after it closed, RIP), and McClelland's fame has grown to the point that he's opening for Cher's Australian tour. But the music has remained the same – a booty-shaking mix of everything from Beyoncé to the Beatles.
Head into Max Watts on Friday, October 19 to celebrate ten years of lighting up the dance floor with Mr McClelland. For this special event you'll be able to book tickets online via Max Watts, and general entry will cost you $20. Dancing hours have also been extended in celebration – doors open 9pm, and the party continues until 4am.
