There are those who immediately get stuck into their food, and there are those who make sure to get perfect Instagram first. If you identify with the latter, then we’ve got some good news for you: Crown restaurant Conservatory has launched a new circus-inspired afternoon tea.

Sweet Circus combines both traditional afternoon tea elements (the tiered stands, the finger sandwiches) with a sweet and very photogenic dessert buffet inspired by the big top. There’s almost an impossible amount of food to try, including a crêpe station, cheese station and multiple chocolate fountains for your strawberry (or let’s be honest, cake) drizzling convenience.

We did promise there would be Instagram opportunities, and we weren’t lying. The sweets buffet features aesthetically pleasing dishes like strawberry and macaron towers, toffee apple-shaped petit fours, chocolate mousses that look like rabbits in hats and (wait for it) a doughnut Ferris wheel.

Sweet Circus afternoon tea at Conservatory is available Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm, and Sundays 3.30pm to 5.30pm until the end of September. Prices start from $75.
