After facing the worst wildfires in its history, Los Angeles is finally piecing itself back together – and you can play a part in its restitching. Tourism is now not just welcomed to the City of Angels; it's encouraged. And now, thanks to news from Delta Air Lines, getting there from Melbourne will be easier than ever.
Launching in December 2025, Delta’s brand-new non-stop service will connect Los Angeles (LAX) and Melbourne with a direct route between the two cities. Flights will take off three times per week, with a 14 hour and 25 minute travel time. The first flight from Melbourne will depart on December 5, and you can book your seat on it right now.
Whether you’re drawn to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood or the sun-drenched Pacific beaches, this new route offers seamless connectivity between two world-class destinations. Passengers on this new route will fly aboard Delta’s Airbus A350-900, where we are told you can expect top-tier comfort and amenities.
This means it's easier than ever for Melburnians to explore the best of the City of Angels, whether hitting the surf in Malibu, wandering along the Venice Beach boardwalk or hiking to the Griffith Observatory for panoramic skyline views. Of course, there are also several ways you can immerse yourself in Hollywood history here, from finding your favourite celebrity star at the Walk of Fame to seeing a show at the legendary Dolby Theatre.
LA's dining scene is also well worth the trip in and of itself. You can indulge in Michelin-starred restaurants, explore farmers' markets, or track down the city's best tacos. For culture vultures, the Getty, LACMA, and The Broad offer world-class exhibitions, while sports fans can catch an LA Lakers game or a concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
Whether you’re travelling for adventure, business, or a long-overdue getaway, this new non-stop connection will bring these two cultural hotspots closer than ever before. You can learn more about the new route by visiting the website here.
