Even latte-sipping, tram-literate city slickers need some time in the great outdoors occasionally. A little forest frolic never goes astray, nor does spending the night in a luxuriously renovated shipping container planted conveniently close to one of Victoria’s best wineries. Sound good? You should try the Wine Down Pop Up.

The Wine Down Pop Up is a new boutique hotel that's popping up across some of Victoria's top wineries. This isn't your standard regional getaway – the Wine Down pop-up is comprised of two shipping containers that have been upcycled into ultra luxe accommodation suites. Everyone knows Melburnians are mad for an upcycled shipping container (*cough* Section 8 *cough* Whitehart Bar) so why not spend the night in one?

The two luxury eco-pods were created by Contained and are popping up across three Victorian wine regions in the next few months.

After kicking off its Victorian tour at South Gippsland’s Waratah Hills Vineyard, the pop-up hotel moved north to Dal Zotto Wines in the King Valley where it will live until June 2. Then from June 7 to July 7 the hotel can be found at Mount Towrong Estate in the Macedon Ranges.

Now, for where you’ll be staying. Expect a few high end touches that you probably wouldn’t expect from a pop-up including a queen sized bed with Cultiver linen, a private bathroom with Hunter Lab toiletries, a mini bar, floor to ceiling bi-fold doors, a private deck and even a hot tub. Plus, a fresh continental brekkie will be ready and waiting for you when you wake up.
