Walk up the unassuming stairs under the neon 'Uptown Jazz Cafe' sign and you'll find this trendy little jazz bar that boasts live music four nights a week. As if this place wasn't quirky enough, it's perched above a Japanese restaurant so if you're feeling peckish why not try some Tokyo-inspired teriyaki with your trumpet.
Don't think it's all a mish-mash, though, these guys take jazz seriously and are always up from some old-school improv. The only thing that's missing are the beret-wearing beatniks and a smoky cigarette haze.
