Inspector Norse is making a comeback. The Norweigan DJ, songwriter and producer Terje Olsen – known professionally as Todd Terje as a homage to the house music producer Todd Terry – has announced he will take to the decks at the Night Cat this coming November.
Todd Terje was last here when he performed as a headliner at Meredith Music Festival in 2017, and as well as a performance in Melbourne, he will play a set at Strawberry Fields and at Summer Dance in Sydney.
Set to perform an intimate show on November 17, the cosmic maestro will be joined by fellow DJ Harvey Sutherland. Traversing genres of disco, deep funk, Latin and jazz, Todd Terje has been dubbed everything from the “king of the summer jams” to one of Rolling Stone’s “DJs that rule the earth”.
Todd Terje first broke onto the scene with the release of his debut album, 2014’s It’s Album Time, which featured favourites such as ‘Strandbar’ and the legendary ‘Inspector Norse.’ In 2017, he was nominated for Record of the Year for the Four Tet remix of his track 'Jungelknugen' at the Electronic Music Awards.
Terje has since gone on to cement a career as a live touring musician, bouncing from clubs to festivals (if you haven’t his and Byran Ferry's Coachella rendition of Robert Palmer's ‘Johnny and Mary’, consider this your official order to do so)
Todd Terje performs at the Night Cat in Melbourne on Friday, November 17. Tickets to see the DJ are sold out, but you can get sign up for updates on the Moshtix website here.
