Soon after forming in Perth in 2016, Spacey Jane hit mainstream success with the release of their first debut single, 'Feeding the Family'. It was an immediate radio hit, and the indie-rock kept building that momentum through to the 2020 release of their debut album, Sunlight.
The album navigates the anxious and depressive feelings associated with growing up, and the group seamlessly flits between breezy, almost surf rock-esque tracks like 'Booster Seat' and distortion-heavy, rock-influenced tracks like 'Good For You'.
Music that channels adolescent angst is nearly always a winning recipe, and the group has expanded on that theme with their sophomore album, Here Comes Everybody. "Doesn't it faze you how people change? Are you okay with that?" sings Caleb Harper on the album's opening track, 'Sitting Up'.
To support their latest album, Spacey Jane is playing five shows at the Forum in Melbourne, between August 23 and 27. Tickets still remain for the August 23 and August 25 shows, and you can snap yours up through the Ticketek website.
