Songstress Mary J Blige is headed to Hamer Hall for an intimate performance that spans her 25-year career in music.
If eight multi-platinum albums, nine Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards weren’t enough, 2016 saw Blige return with her chicest effort yet: a full-length R’n’B wonder titled Strength of a Woman.
Influenced by the music of Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight, Blige has been long celebrated for her gritty and groovy style that blends hip hop, soul and R’n’B. It’s best seen on her mega hits ‘Family Affair’ and ‘No More Drama’.
Blige will be performing tracks from Strength of a Woman at Bluesfest in Byron Bay as well as a show at Hamer Hall on Wednesday April 12. There’s no doubt Blige will be pulling out all the stops (and hits!) for her adoring Melbourne audience.
