Time Out says

In a year of turmoil for Aussie music festivals, Rising rides to the rescue. Melbourne’s flagship winter arts festival is throwing a day-long block party in and around Melbourne Town Hall, for those in the mood to turn up the groove as the temperature turns down.

Day Tripper will take hold of multiple venues on Swanston Street from 12pm till 8pm on Saturday, June 8, spreading sideways across the street from the Town Hall to Max Watt's and the Capitol Theatre. British rockers Bar Italia, named after London's Soho stalwart late-night café, pop their Melbourne cherry, and you can also catch the likes of Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), Indian icon Asha Puthli and Melbourne's David Lynch-inspired sadcore outfit HTRK

The festival is presented with local radio legends Triple R and we’re expecting it to be a wildly eclectic day, where the Town Hall organ blasts and things get a little freaky. We’re heading along ourselves, so stay tuned for our rundown.

Tickets for Day Tripper cost $115 and you can secure yours at the Rising website.
