Just when you thought the Newmarket Hotel – you know, the beloved St Kilda venue best known for its pooch-friendly beer garden, ice-cold pints and throwing epic bottomless brunch sessions – couldn’t get any better, it’s now playing host to Ziggy Pops.
Launched in 2021, Ziggy Pops is a live music venue that is housed in the enormous underground cellar of the pub. It is set to welcome an impressive line-up of local and national musicians performing everything from blues and country to jazz, hip hop, rock, funk, comedy and more.
So far the confirmed acts include Reece Mastin, Clint Boge, Irish Mythen and Nebeske Ulice, with more to be announced. The majority of performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights, but there are a couple of mid-week shows locked in as well.
There are two types of tickets available: one for the show only, and another that includes dinner and reserved seating (prices will vary depending on the act). Choose the second option and you’ll be treated to an entree and a main meal, with tasty items like charcuterie boards, roast chicken and pasta on the menu.
There’s something for everyone to enjoy at Ziggy Pops, so if you’re keen for a fun night out this is something you won't want to miss. For more information and to view the full performance schedule, visit the website.
