Time Out says

The Buda Historic House and Garden has been standing in Castlemaine since the gold rush era. Named after the city of Budapest by original Hungarian owner Ernest Leviny, the Buda house still contains much of the original art and furniture.

The house is regarded as an accredited museum by Museums Australia and boasts more than a hectare of gardens as well as a gift shop and nursery.
