There’s nothing like the phrase “I’m bored” to remind you that it’s the school holidays. Bust your children’s boredom and get them outside at the same time with Parks Victoria’s Junior Rangers events these winter school holidays.
Parks Victoria is running several events from July 1 to July 12 aimed at developing kids’ love of nature. The Junior Rangers program will get kids aged six to 12 exploring outside with a series of completely free events run by real park rangers.
This winter your kids can go hunting for a “Minibeast”, become a wildlife detective, splash around in rock pools or go fishing. The events are happening across Melbourne in locations like Brimbank Park, Frankston Pier, Dandenong Ranges National Park and Albert Park, so there are lots of opportunities to take part over the holidays.
All Junior Rangers events are free, but bookings are required, and a parent or guardian must accompany children at all times. Visit the Junior Rangers website for more information, dates and to book.
