Time Out says

If you're looking to spend the night in the city somewhere within a short walk of its finest attractions, book in at Veriu, a new boutique hotel housing more than a hundred serviced apartments. Tucked down Therry Street in the northern part of the CBD, you'll easily be able to visit nearby hotspots like Queen Victoria Market, the State Library of Victoria, Flagstaff Gardens and the Melbourne Museum

When you enter on the ground floor you'll be greeted at reception, which is in a space also offering working areas, water taps (both sparkling and still), coffee and alcohol service. Happy hour is available in the lobby from 4-6pm daily, with deals including $4 beers and $6 glasses of wine.

The Veriu pays homage to its neighbour, the Queen Vic Market, with framed prints of the bustling marketplace hung throughout the common spaces and rooms. For rooms, you can opt between standard suites (with king-sized beds or twin singles), accessible suites (designed for those with access and mobility needs), superior suites (offering better views), one-bedroom suites, quad suites (which sleep up to four guests) and an accessible comfy king suite.

Regardless of your choice of room, you'll get to enjoy a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, dishwasher, cooktop, Nespresso coffee machine and a full-sized fridge. Melbourne has no shortage of good eats, but these amenities make it easy to keep your spending low or enjoy a home-cooked meal. You'll also have access to a guest laundry if you want to stay on top of your washing and a pool if you're after a bit of R&R time.

Veriu sits within a vibrant precinct that currently houses other businesses including Only Mine Chocolate, a chocolaterie making high-quality treats, and Re-Wine, a cellar door with a sustainable ethos demonstrated by its zero-waste supply chain. And that's not all – soon the precinct will also be home to other local enterprises like Brick Lane Brewing, Moonfish Sushi and St Ali and the Queen, a coffee and cocktail bar.

Time Out tip: You'd be remiss not to hit up the market while you're here, so make sure to stay when it's open. It's open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6am-3pm, Saturdays from 6am-4pm and Sundays from 9am-4pm. And if you're visiting in the winter or summer, make sure to swing by on Wednesdays for the Night Market season; when it's on, the market is open from 5pm to 10pm and is swarming with street food stalls, carts, trucks and festival bars.
