You’ve stayed in Airbnbs, now try an artbnb. When the Blender Studios (one of Melbourne’s most influential and well-known artist-led creative spaces) moved to Dudley Street in West Melbourne at the start of 2019, the group of fine and street artists found themselves with a spare room. Instead of using it as an additional studio, the Blender crew turned the room into luxe boutique accommodation.
The Blender Loft has got to be one of the most interesting (and certainly the most arty) locations to stay in Melbourne. The self-contained, studio-style room was renovated in mid-2019 and features a bed, sofa, Wi-Fi, yoga mats, ensuite bathroom, rain shower, mini bar, kettle, TV, toaster and microwave.
Being part of the Blender family, the loft also features a rotating selection of art, which changes every three months (a catalogue of the room’s current artworks is also provided). Guests at the Blender Loft also have access to Blender Studios and Dark Horse Experiment Gallery downstairs, plus discounted tickets to try the Melbourne Street Art Tour (they’re run by professional artists from Blender Studios).
