What could be more gloriously nostalgic than a popcorn-packed movie drive-in as led by the Mouse House?
Disney+ Drive-In is coming back to Melbourne Showgrounds this summer. Opening January 14, the world-conquering streaming service is set to present everything from its animated classics right through to more contemporary offerings for adults.
Films lined up for the 2022 season include The Lion King (1994), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Hercules, Jungle Cruise, The Emperor's New Groove, Moulin Rouge, Moana, The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada.
This year the drive-in is expanding its ticket offerings with the Park. This section is designed for couples or pairs to relax in a picnic setting, in a space offering bean bags, table service and volume controlled radio hire. Not a bad option if you don't have your own set of wheels.
Tickets are $40 for both cars (up to five guests) or double passes to the Park. Snacks can be purchased through DoorDash, with the service delivering straight to your car.
