Chris Lilley's Mr G is a figure that will go down in Australian comedy history. It has been eight years since Summer Heights High came out, and yet, none of us have forgotten scenes like this.
As part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, you're invited to relive those memories at a Mr G Summer Heigh High Singalong, hosted by Triple J's Alex Dyson. As Summer Heights High is played on the big screen, you'll be encouraged to yell out Mr G's greatest lines ("My teaching methods are fairly unique. I get pretty experimental, and I go crazy sometimes. I just let loose”), and sing along to hits like 'Naughty Girl'. Hell, you can even don a salmon shirt and tie if you like. Unfortunately, the man himself won't be attending.
