Time Out says

Sara Schaefer is a critically-acclaimed comedian, producer and author based in Los Angeles. Her work at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon scored her an Emmy and her stand-up career has taken her around the world.

Schaefer brings her new solo show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival straight off the back of opening runs in New York and at San Francisco Sketch Fest. At first look, Going Up is a ‘seminar’ of sorts. The show aims to teach audiences to defeat their hecklers, develop a TS (thick skin) and achieve total perfect comedy success… All you need to do to unlock your full potential is just keep Going Up!

However, there’s more to this comedy recruitment night than meets the eye. Beyond the sharp jokes, this show will confront the rampant abuse and insidious self-doubt that comes with being a creative in today’s world. Don’t fret though – like any good motivational speaker, Sara will bring audiences through the darkness and into the light.

Schaefer will take to the Cloak Room at Melbourne Town Hall for this Australian premiere season from April 1-23.
