It's been seven years since Aziz Ansari last toured Australia, and a lot has happened in the time since. He finished his long stint in Parks and Recreation in 2015, created the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning series Master of None, and released his fourth comedy special on Netflix. But he also made headlines for the wrong reasons early last year when a woman who went on a date with Ansari alleged she felt pressured into performing sex acts with him.
This new tour, called Road to Nowhere, is his first since that incident. The show has earned stellar reviews, and he apparently addresses those allegations in a rather roundabout way. But it is a stand-up show, so there's plenty of material that's a bit easier to laugh at, even if Ansari is still diving headfirst into tough subjects with his sharp, satirical comedic style.
