Never has a name been more appropriate. Blue Diamond is literally the jewel in the crown of Melbourne's jazz club scene, fashioned after a 1920s New York speakeasy.
Hidden on the 15th floor of this innocuous CBD tower, the venue is a real gem, with dark wood panelled walls, intimate tables scattered round the stage and a breathtaking rooftop view from a balcony that stretches the length of two sides of the building.
From jazz, to Latin to cabaret, the music is par excellence, as are the expertly made cocktails and the cigar selection. You don't have to be a member to get in, you just have to know someone who is or fork out the dollars. It's worth it.
