Opening night film for the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) has been revealed as the new movie from Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) starring Daniel Radcliffe, as well as Thomas Kretschmann (The Pianist).
Jungle is a wrenching tale of survival based on the memoir by Yossi Ghinsberg, about a group of young adventurers lost in the Amazon. It was made with the help of the MIFF Premiere Fund.
According to MIFF director Michelle Carey, Jungle is "bold, hugely entertaining and a thrilling ride... an impressive showcase of Australian and international talent behind and in front of the camera.”
The film will screen at the Regent Theatre on August 3 and will be followed by a gala party at the Plaza Ballroom. No word yet on whether Radcliffe will be in attendance but tickets are on sale now.
