Fitzroy Indian restaurant Horn Please is giving away an entire day’s worth of takings to raise money for childhood education.

Taking place on Thursday October 19, the fundraising dinner will involve an all-you-can-eat Indian buffet created by Horn Please chef Amar Singh. The meals will be completely vegetarian too – and we all know how daal-icious the vegetarian food is in India. Wear your comfy pants because the basmati, naan and balti dishes of curry will be free-flowing.

The money raised from the event will be donated to international non-government organisation ATMA who help disadvantaged children in India access education. Almost half of Indian children under 15 live in poverty and supporting children into education is one of the ways this cycle can be broken.

Last year the restaurant’s fundraising dinner raised $5,000. This year they’re hoping to outdo themselves and raise at least $7,000. Tickets for the dinner are $35 and can be purchased on the night. Doors open 5.30pm Thursday October 19.

In a charitable mood? There's lots of great places to volunteer at in Melbourne.
