1. You get to choose the music. Usually DJs hate it when you make requests while they're busy playing a set they've crafted for the night, but at DJ Phone Home, you can fight for your right to party. Make sure your favourite dancefloor bangers get played on the night by voting (or furiously tap) for your request on your phone. The results of the vote are displayed on a screen and the winning song gets the play!
2. See Andrew McClelland bust a move. Okay, you're the one here for a dance, but you really need to take tips from old mate here. Dude sure can dance.
3. The Bey Dance crew will be firing up the d-floor. If you've been to Andrew McClelland's Finishing School club nights, you'll know at least one Beyonce song will be played on the night. Watch how it's done and see how to dance to 'Formation' or 'Love on Top' like the pros.
4. McClelland will bring out the big guns to decide whether he should play Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' or Third Eye Blind's 'Semi-charmed Kind of Life'. Sumo wrestlers, or rather comedians Lawrence Leung and Laura Davis in sumo suits, will fight it out for the best (or worst?) song.
DJ Phone Home is on Friday 8 April and Saturday 9 April from 11pm-late at Bella Union. Tickets ($10-$15) are available at the door or online.
