Whaler is a local's cocktail bar run by long-term bartenders Robbie Alexander and Louise Astell. House cocktails feature minor twists on classics, such as subbing out lemon with orange and mandarin in a Tom Collins, or replacing whisky with brandy in an Old Fashioned and drawing it out with lemonade. Beers and wines are both as local as they come, leaning towards a new-world style, and are kept company with a Southern American menu which heroes fried chicken, crispy pig's ears and a dangerous mac and cheese.
