Collingwood's beloved haven the Gem has just launched a new menu, crafted by head chef Blair Williams (formerly of Lady Carolina and Bluebonnet). If you're a fan of American barbecue, then you'll want to put this on the top of your hit list. Fiery smoked meats are the go here; think Kentucky black lamb shoulder, Kansas City pork ribs and Texas Angus brisket straight from the pit. Don't skimp on the sides, which include grits, mac'n'cheese and chicken and waffles.

While the Gem is big on barbecued meat you'll also find plenty of vegetarian-friendly options, with 15 items being meat-free. There are also happy hour specials from 4-7pm every Tuesday through Friday, where you'll find $6 selected beers and ciders, $10 Aperol spritz, $6 house wine and half price tacos, wings and loaded Texas fries. Every Friday they also do a raffle and the winner scores their own barbecue plate for two.

While the kitchen might have a new boss, you can expect the same great vibes, live music and DJs.
