There’s nothing wrong with pub grub. Done right, it’s comforting, familiar and darn delicious. That said, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of new school either. But whether you’re a traditionalist or love all things #trending, you’ll always feel welcome at the Brandon Hotel.
There’s a whole lot to love at this North Carlton corner pub. Tucked away on Station Street, it’s the sort of place often frequented by locals looking for a pint or glass of wine to enjoy by the modern fireplace. Warm and welcoming, the Brandon can cater for everything from sit-down dinners to cocktail events with space for up to 120 guests.
You can get a hefty parma here no worries (and if you go on Saturdays it’ll only cost you $15 with a pot of beer or glass of house wine), but the chefs also venture beyond the “salad or chips?” mindset. Order a grazing board of cheeses and charcuterie for something light, or set yourself up with a small plate of three-cheese arancini or crispy chicken wings.
The hotel has specials every day of opening. You can’t go wrong with Sunday’s $25 roast and all-day $7 pints. Other specials include fish and chips Tuesdays; burger Wednesdays and parma Saturdays – all of which are $15 and come with a pot of beer or glass of wine.
The Brandon Hotel is open Tuesday to Sunday.
