Time Out says

The Meatball & Wine Bar has stood proudly in its Flinders Lane spot since 2012. With recipes having remained essentially the same since it opened, the Meatball & Wine Bar has continued to bring high-quality produce, Italian wines, and balls aplenty to regulars and newcomers alike – affectionately referred to as 'Ballers'.

Matteo Bruno founded the restaurant and bar with a desire to bring Melburnians wholesome Italian food and fine wine, with its staple dishes inspired by his mother's Venetian heritage. Matteo's famous balls come in all forms – pork, beef, chicken, fish and even veg. They are accompanied by your choice of sauce and served on a bed of polenta, potato smash, pasta, risotto, beans or peperonata. Other menu favourites include sliders, housemade gnocchi and spaghetti and meatballs of course. The menu highlights house favourites including Sangiovese from Terre di Chieti, Nero D'Avola from Sicilia and Fiano from McLaren Vale.

The Meatball & Wine Bar has a focus on providing a comfortable and familial environment: some of the team have been involved for the duration of its existence, and it's even where Matteo met his wife. Join in on the baller celebrations this October.
