The aim of the game at this prohibition era-style cocktail bar is good drinks and bar snacks minus the wank factor. The 1920s vibes bring in an electro-swing where you’ll find all the classics from the golden age of cocktails, but they're not afraid to mix things up either with a bar snacks menu that take points from an almost bewildering range of influences: from French-inspired terrines and pâtés to bite-sized octopus takoyaki balls.
Owner Reg Ridealgh says, “We're big fans of charcuterie and cheese boards but we're not afraid of putting them on a menu next to share plates such as Asian pork noodle balls or lamb kofta."
While the concept of a speakeasy bar usually goes hand-in-hand with underground bars, it is St Kilda after all, so a beer garden will play host to barbecue smokers and food trucks come summertime.
