Time Out says

The European Bier Café is set for a glow-up in 2023, slated to relaunch as Morris House in autumn. At this stage, plans for the remodelled venue include a four-level upscale pub, a New York-style basement comedy cellar, dining and bar facilities, private event spaces and a sprawling rooftop. And it will be the more the merrier at Morris House, with the expansive venue set to hold 550 guests.

Tucked away in plain sight on Exhibition Street in the heart of the CBD, the OG European Bier Café has been giving punters a taste of European beer and cuisine without the long-haul flight for many years. And with the multi-million dollar renovations already underway, the always-popular drinking hole is set to be completely rejuvenated.

“It’s a complete transformation, explains Paul Waterson, CEO of the Australian Venue Co. We’re excited to keep investing in the Melbourne CBD with this project. The CBD is back, and we’re focused on the future.”

The European Bier Café as you know it will remain closed during the works, but come autumn 2023, look out for a shiny new facade at 120 Exhibition Street and discover what is sure to become one of Melbourne's go-to drinking and entertainment spots.
