Time Out says

Renovated in 2020, Wyndham Park is a riverside gem ideal for recreation and a breath of fresh air. The $13 million renovation created exciting playgrounds for the little ones, exercise equipment for fitness fanatics, picnic facilities and plenty of gorgeous walking and cycling tracks.

The main playground has everything kids could want to play on, including an 11-metre slide tower, a fun climbing frame, flying foxes, swings and a Sof'fall. Older children will love the fast-paced equipment and the tall climbing structure, while littlies are catered for too with gentler equipment.

The kids will never run out of things to do in this play area, but there's a second playground for tiny David Attenboroughs in the making. The nature playground includes a water-play area, a cubby house and sandpits, and it's surrounded by trees and native vegetation.

The main lawn area of the park is perfect for games of footy or soccer, and outdoor events such as concerts and festivals are also held in this space.

Walking and cycling tracks meander along the Werribee River, providing a space for exercise and a much-needed respite from city life. The park is also within easy reach of Wyndham Art Gallery and Wyndham Cultural Centre.

What’s on

Lit at Wyndham Park

Wyndham Park is getting a literal glow-up this March with a dazzling after dark experience returning to the Werribee recreation area. Lit at Wyndham Park is a free, after-hours art experience that turns the space into a glowing wonderland through a number of immersive attractions.  This year, highlights include several large-scale installations, including more than 50 gigantic, iridescent bubbles, a 27-metre illuminated skink sculpture representing the culture of the First Nations Kaurna people and an interactive artwork that allows you to create a holographic projection of yourself. Plus, there's a light trail and a colourful installation celebrating Australian wildflowers.  To make a night of it, there's plenty of restaurants, bars, pubs and more within the city centre of Werribee.  Lit at Wyndham Park is free to enjoy and will run nightly Thursday to Sunday from March 27 to April 13, open between 7pm and 11pm. There will also be sensory friendly nights on April 2 and 9. Head to the website for more information about the event. Looking for more fun? Here's our guide to what's on in Melbourne this weekend.
