Time Out says

The Altar Electric is shaking up marriage ceremonies in a huge way, bringing a bit of rock 'n' roll to couples who want to break tradition and have a truly unique celebration.

Since 2017, the retro Abbotsford venue has held small weddings, giving lovebirds the option of a ceremony with up to 80 guests. And if the newlyweds want a party, too, the venue can throw in food, drinks, a DJ and more. The Altar Electric has become a hit with all kinds of couples, gaining a reputation for being one of our city’s most rocking spaces to get hitched in.

The weddings are registry-style affairs with veteran celebrants, but with a lot more heart, soul and sparkle. Lovers can even get the full Las Vegas experience with an authentic Elvis to perform the ceremony, serenade included. There’s also a honeymoon package available (with a vintage Cadillac thrown in!) and vow renewal ceremonies. With plenty of colour, confetti and disco balls, these wedding ceremonies are absolutely unforgettable.
