Time Out says

Some playgrounds are so big that you end up tuckering yourself out trying to keep an eye on your kids. If you want to be able to give yourself a break, opt for the smaller, more manageable playground in Golden Square Bicentennial Park. Nestled in a small reserve in the historically significant Golden Square precinct in Richmond, this inner-city playground has a lot to offer both kids and parents.

Set on a hill, the wooden playground offers simple but fun equipment options. Kids can run up the hill and in and out of the main wooden structure, which opens out to two slides: one for children and one for toddlers. There is also a shop front, tic-tac-toe board, abacus, swings, spring-loaded motorbike and musical drums to bang on, among other things.

For kids who want to avoid the crowds of the main structure, there’s a separate slide a few metres away. The park also offers barbecue facilities, plenty of space for ball games and other sports and an off-leash area for dogs.

Parents will also appreciate that Serotonin Eatery is just across the street on Stalwell Street. This wholesome café offers picnic baskets that you can use to take your picnics over to the park, perfect for those warm days when all you want is to soak up the sunshine. The menu puts an emphasis on healthy and plant-based food, so parents can rest assured that their children will be fed nutritious meals.
