Drawing inspiration from hip hop and street art culture, as well as his Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta heritage, Ballarat artist Josh Muir’s kaleidoscopic multimedia works hang in the National Gallery of Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria, and have been featured as part of White Night Melbourne and the 2017 Melbourne Festival. His latest solo exhibition at the Koorie Heritage Trust explores his personal journey through drugs and depression, and features 24 new works printed on aluminium, including eight self-portraits created for the show, along with immersive wallpaper, a neon installation and a three-channel animation.
