Angel

One of Deborah Halpern’s Melbourne landmarks is the mammoth mosaic ‘Angel’, which was commissioned to celebrate the bicentenary of Australia’s colonisation. It’s pretty enormous and initially stood in the National Gallery of Victoria’s moat on St Kilda Road, but made the move in 2006 to the more low-profile site of Birrarung Marr.
