We all know that Manchester is a great city. We have amazing nightlife, world class art galleries, the best theatre in the regions and culinary delights around every corner. Not to mention our sporting heritage and significant history in manufacturing, social reform, music... The list goes on.

But clearly modesty is not a Mancunian trait, as Manchester Day comes along once a year to remind us and the world that, as cities go, we're amongst the best. It's not just us that thinks so - remember when the New York Times chose us as the only UK city in their list of the best places to visit in the world?

Here are ten great images from the 2015 celebration by Michael Goldrei.

Until next year...
