Monty Python's 'Spamalot' returns to Manchester, the stage version of the much better film, 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.'
For some, it's a side-splitting slice of Pythonesque humour, and the constantly changing performers help to lend weight to this, with the impressive likes of Tim Curry, Sanjeev Bhaskaar, Phil Jupitas and, erm, Todd Carty taking lead roles. And with regular guest slots as God getting such star names as Michael Palin, Michael Ball, Hugh Bonneville and the man behind the whole thing, Eric Idle, lined up to play him, there's clearly a lot of respect for the production.
For others though, it's just not very funny. And not even sticking 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' from a different Python film can help it.
