Fig and Sparrow refers to itself as a ‘lifestyle store and coffee bar’ and it's a great place to head for a brew and community vibes.
Coffee is sourced from north east institution Ringtons, and used in everything from cappuccinos to macchiatos. The milk is also sourced from a local dairy, providing the perfect accompaniment to the deep Ringtons roast. There’s also a stonking selection of loose-leaf teas, from the exotic samovar orange spice to a bolstering builder’s tea.
With the focus being very much on local produce, Fig and Sparrow also source baked good from Bolton baker Andy Holmes, including an ever- changing selection of flapjacks, brownies and other mouthwatering treats. For something a little more nutritious, Fig and Sparrow also offers a breakfast menu, offering Greek yoghurt with a huge selection of accompaniments, alongside luxury toast with bread sourced from artisan bakery Trove in Levenshulme. While the lunch menu is small, it’s creative, not only in the sandwich stakes but in the rich salads it offers, such as mackerel, beetroot and horseradish, with vegetarian options also available.
